Day Camp Parent Pack

Camper Forms

For the safety of your camper, there are a few forms that are required to attend camp. To access the forms through your online account, please simply click the 'My Account' link. After you enter your login information, click on 'Forms and Documents' under the Forms Dashboard and there you will see which forms are needed for your camper and when they are due.

The required forms for Day Camp are:

  • Health History (online form)
    • Includes immunization record (online only - no paper forms will be accepted)
  • Parent Consent and Insurance - include a copy of front and back of health insurance cards (print and scan / fax in)

Additional forms for optional activities can also be found for:

  • Swim Lessons
  • Horseback Riding Lessons

All of the forms are due two (2) weeks prior to the start of your camper's session.

First Day of Camp Routine

On the first day of Camp, we will get your camper checked in, make sure that all of their forms are submitted, hand you their "pick-up placard,"  give them a name-tag and have your camper join his / her camp group.

While we continue to check-in our campers, your child is free to play on the field, meet new friends and get acquainted with our counselors. Around 9:15am or when all of the campers are checked-in, the counselors will start to organize their camp groups and go over our camp orientation.

Regular Day Camp Check-In

After the first day of Day Camp, the main field and parking lot will be set up for you to simply pull up and drop-off your camper with one of our directors (there is no need to park). We will walk them over to our check-in tables and get them to their camp group.  Camper check-in starts every morning at 8:45am.

Regular Day Camp Pick-Up

In the afternoon, we will set up the main field and parking lot for our camper pick-up. Drive around the track, tell our staff member your camper’s name, and we will have them waiting for you when you pull up to the pick-up spot.  Camper pick-up starts every afternoon at 4:45pm.

Early Camper Pick-Up

If you have to pick your camper up early, not a problem.  Be sure to let our staff know during check-in that your camper will be picked early so we can get them on our "early pick-up" list.   There are a handful of natural breaks within our daily schedule that will make it more convenient for you and will make sure that your camper gets to finish his/her camp activity.  Those breaks are:

  • 10:15am
  • 11:15am
  • 12:20pm - 1:45pm (lunch time)
  • 2:45pm
  • 3:45pm

AM & PM Extended Care

The drop-off and pick-up for our Extended Care options is at the Cafeteria ("up the hill" and towards the left). AM Care drop-off is at 8am and the PM Care pick-up is between 6pm - 6:30pm.

Parent's Night

Every Friday, we offer a Parent's Night at 4:00pm. This gives our parents a chance to see some of camp life in person. During the Parent Program, we talk about our week, sing a few songs and show our Session Slide Show produced by our campers. There is also the opportunity to meet your child's counselor, go through our Lost & Found and even get some new Mountain Camp Woodside gear.

Cell Phones and Electronics Policy

Campers may not bring electronic devices to camp. We believe camp is a great opportunity for children to be independent from their parents, in a safe and supportive environment, for a short period of time. After many discussions with camp parents and careful consideration, we are no longer allowing electronic devices at Mountain Camp Woodside. This includes Music Players (iPods, MP3s, etc.), Hand Held Games (DS, PSP, etc.), Cell Phones, Electronic Readers (Kindles, iPads, etc.), Laptops and Radios. As electronic devices have grown increasingly more complex (with features like video, internet access, etc.), we believe they disrupt the camp environment and have the potential to negatively impact the camper’s experience. Cameras are allowed. We recommend a disposable camera

Not Allowed At Camp

We do not allow pets, weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or other banned substances at camp.

What to Bring for Day Camp

Please label everything so we can more easily return it to you if it is left behind:

  • A bag or backpack
  • Closed-toesd shoes
  • Towel, swimsuit
  • Hat
  • Sunblock. Even though we will apply sunscreen to the campers throughout the day, it is always a good idea to apply liberally in the morning before drop-off.

Lost and Found

Lost and found items will be kept in a designated spot in the Camp Office throughout the summer. Please check with the Camp Directors if you believe an item of yours was left behind at camp. We are unable to store lost and found items once camp is over and we will donate any unclaimed items after the final day of camp.

Medication

If your camper needs medication during the day, it must be turned in and logged with the Camp Directors. All medicine must be in the original container. Due to licensing, Camp Directors are not allowed to dispense any medication not in their original containers.
